Co-creating ecologically conscious, spiritful, joyful community living.
We aspire to be co-creating a world where earth’s ecosystems flourish, with humans thriving and belonging as part of the whole.
Our focus is to inspire and facilitate cultural change through co-creating ecologically conscious, spiritful, joyful community living.
We use a co-housing model where all community members jointly own a company limited by guarantee, and that company owns the property.
We aim to work in partnership with The Rewilding Collective and to be nested at the heart of a rewilding and regenerative agriculture project.
There will be a mix of shared and private spaces, to suit differing needs, along with lots of shared resources and time together.
We presume people with a variety of financial positions will form this community.
Some people will be able to pay their buy-in cost in full as we purchase a property, some will make part payment with the rest being covered by a loan that we arrange on behalf of the community, repaid in monthly installments.
It is important to understand that while
this is not a situation where anyone guarantees the initiative’s ongoing viability.
The idea of community means widely different things to different people, and navigating this to a place where there is sufficient alignment, along with diversity and freedom is a complex and ongoing process.
We have adopted sociocracy and aspire to draw on Non-Violent Communication skills to support this process, and we aspire to be respectfully inclusive and work together to question and revise unconscious assumptions and limiting societal beliefs.
Some decisions about the form and flavour of the community have already been established and all people approaching Regenerative Community are asked to check in with themselves about their alignment with this. And then other aspects of community living will evolve as we journey together.
We invite ourselves to collectively deepen our sense of presence and honouring of the world and each other, in our day to day lives and our connections and activities as a community.
Our shared purpose statement is ‘…to inspire and facilitate cultural change through co-creating ecologically conscious, spiritful, joyful community living.’
And our aims include supporting and encouraging us all in bringing our gifts to the world and contributing to wider cultural change work.
Developing and growing this community is part of that work and we aim to be able to share this and support other groups in forming similar cohousing, and building wider resilience in this time of change.
There is an intention to become more ‘collapse informed’ and aware of the dramatic impacts that the climate and ecological crisis will have and is having, and the ripple effects of this throughout society. This is something that we can deepen together, and build into our lives, practically (energy, food, transport, water, infrastructure), interpersonally and in our life journeys.
